  Hyperlocal Sites

  What can we do to support the concept of hyperlocal (or community) sites? Can we create a platform for them - or use existing tools? eg wikis, ideascale, etc Can we set up a demo one? Can we identify feeds, add maps or open data, create areas for local discussion, voting, e-petitions and other tools?   Use of social media tools (and possibly apps) for Community Planning in Aberdeen to ensure the Citizens of Aberdeen have a voice.

  Mapping community 'places'

  I'm working on the http://ALISS.org project and would like to look at ways of mapping venues for health/social activity.

  As an exercise, might look at how such data in eg http://www.activescotland.org.uk/ could be linked via OpenStreetMap.

  Flexible working app

  Scenario - visiting another authority/agency and you need a desk to work from but could also apply to authorities with several offices. An app on your work mobile identifies your geo-location and enables you to book resources (e.g. hot desk, video-conference) on the hoof. Perhaps a bit limited now but in the brave new world, offices may be shared a lot more (no reason that you could not stop off and work at the local ...more »

  Democratic decision engine

  I'm obsessed with the potential creation of a democratic decision engine - a modular tool that can be used to create agreed popular decisions amongst groups of any size, allowing groups to take on direct responsibility for choices that are currently made on their behalf by Boards, or representative individuals. This will prevent the co-opting of group identity by particular interests.
